The Volvo V70

The V70 is Volvo’s largest estate car, and as such draws upon decades of Estate Car Research by Volvo, who have led this segment since the 1950’s.

The V70 provides everything an estate car should, its comfortable, can haul an amazing amount of stuff, its packed full of standard kit, it’s incredibly safe and despite its proportions – it’s actually engaging and good to drive. If you have a family, or travel long distances – it’s highly likely that you have at least considered this vehicle. The miles simply disappear when you are behind the wheel of the V70, as they do when behind the wheel of the V70’s rivals, which include the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes E-Class.

The D5 diesel engines are the most popular, whilst the T5 petrol engines are renowned for their performance and were the vehicle of choice for UK traffic police for many years. The later V70 R design models also have lower suspension, which makes them tighter in the bends. At the opposite end of the range to the R-line is the very popular XC70 model which provides all wheel drive and raised suspension for those who venture off the beaten track. These XC models are often seen splattered with mud down the sides.

The V70 was replaced by the V90 in 2016, a model which continues the V70’s legacy in excelling at carrying both passengers and luggage.

The tyres you need to fit to your V70 depends mainly on the type of driving and mileage you do. If you use your vehicle for nipping in and around town, a budget tyre will often provide the performance you require. If you go further afield however, we recommend fitting a premium tyre.
